Summertime is here and with that comes the Hudson Valley Summer Events, Season of Festivals & Special Outdoor Activities!

Hudson Valley Summer Events Season in the Hudson Valley means food, fun and outdoor excitement. And a chance to make A LOT of wonderful memories.

Although some of these events are taking place, please follow these guidelines:

Due to the continued concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19, all of these events are subject to cancellation and/or postponement. Check the individual organizations before making plans to attend any event.

In net, there will be a July 5th motorcade-style parade, with no marchers, along with other safety restrictions.  The move of the parade to Sunday, July 5th will allow families to celebrate the patriotic day of July 4th at home with their families to avoid exposure to crowds. The Lions Club has informed us that there will be no Saugerties fireworks this year.

FREEDOM FEST IN MONTGOMERY

Thomas Bull Memorial Park, Montgomery

Gates for Freedom Fest will tentatively open at 6:00 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk. Further details about the event will be released in the next few weeks. Residents are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks (no glass bottles permitted). The event will be held with the public’s health and safety as the highest priority as we adhere to all public health guidelines.

Join the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy’s Jessica Norman for a photowalk. Jessica is responsible for the photos featured on the conservancy’s social media as well as website. As a gardener, she has a unique insight into the plants and seasons of the gardens. Photowalks will be offered on a monthly basis and will have a theme. Bring your camera or cellphone, sturdy shoes, and water as we will be walking around the gardens.

Join us on Sunday mornings from June until October at 11 am for a free Storytime in the Garden in the lower terrace of the Walled Garden. We will be reading books for children ages two to five years.If you’re coming with a stroller or just need a route without stairs, we will have the side gate to the lower terrace open during Storytime. Blankets are welcome on the lower terrace only during storytime. Storytime will not take place if it is raining.
