RHINEBECK CRAFTS FESTIVAL

Annual parade of floats, band, and marchers. 11 a.m. parade is on Washington Avenue across from Saugerties High School. Fireworks will be at Cantine Field.

Join the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy’s Jessica Norman for a photowalk. Jessica is responsible for the photos featured on the conservancy’s social media as well as website. Bring your camera or cellphone, sturdy shoes, and water as we will be walking around the gardens.

THE SECRETS SOUNDS OF PONDS

The ponds of the Nature Museum are full of mysterious underwater sounds, but you need a magic wand called a hydrophone to hear what’s down there. Then you can play along and make music with the strange creatures of the deep. Who wants to try? Join musician David Rothenberg as he turns the sounds of the Nature Museum’s ponds into a symphony! The Secret Sound of Ponds aims to connect people to the hidden life of freshwater environments through sound. This program is for children and teens ages 6 and up.

HUDSON VALLEY BRASSROOTS FESTIVAL

DUTCHESS COUNTY FAIR

For six days each August, the bucolic fairgrounds on Route 9 in Rhinebeck plays host to nearly half a million patrons. The second largest county fair in New York State is the showplace for agriculture in Dutchess County. Admission is free and food will be available for purchase.

ANNUAL TASTE OF NEW PALTZ

This one day food and drink event at the Ulster County Fairgrounds will celebrate local shops, producers, and restaurants. A selection of craft beverages will also be served. Attendees can purchase $3 to $5 tastes from the festival’s different food and drink vendors. This year features a “Best of the Taste” competition in three categories—Best Food Truck, Best Restaurant, and Best Winery/Distillery. Attendees can vote for their favorite “taste” in each category.

ANNUAL ARLINGTON STREET FAIR
September 21st: 12 pm – 6 pm
Raymond Ave, Poughkeepsie

Take part in this well-attended local tradition! Inflatable rides, live entertainment, musical guests, and 100 – plus vendors – including restaurants, shops, and craftspeople – will transform Raymond Avenue into the 20th Annual Arlington Street Fair. Admission to the fair is free and attendees will enjoy a series of scheduled events throughout the day from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The fair reaches from the corner of Fulton and Collegeview Avenues to the Eastbound Arterial (Route 44/55).
